Biography
This subspecies has remained hidden for quite a long time due to their kelp stalk pattern and colors. They have only been discovered now due to exploration of a declining kelp forest due to a recent influx of toxic sludge, which left them exposed for the first time.
Kelp Dancers spend their whole lives in immense kelp forests, often remaining at the same forest they were born in. They are both caretakers and consumers of their precious kelp. It is thought their blue-green coloring stems from their continuous consumption of chlorophyll and may have been a selected trait to protect them from predation.
At first, interactions with the forlorn Kelp Dancers from that forest were difficult, as they were not used to outsiders. They would simply sway like the kelp itself, and refuse communication with the investigation team. After some convincing that the new dragons were not here to harm them, they started to warm up to us and surprisingly they spoke the common dragon tongue. They shared their culture and now feel more comfortable venturing outside their kelp forests. Today, they continue to raise awareness of kelp protection and kelp husbandry.
