Blackmuck was a child too long, in the eyes of his fellow Guardians. Nothing in the world had inspired his protection, and so he wandered and wandered. He was gravely injured when Agamemnon found him, and nursed him back to health. At the time, The Valorwood Grove was barely more than a concept. Agamemnon had his tea gardens, his pottery workshop, but very little else. Blackmuck saw the vision Agamemnon painted:
A sanctuary for the world weary, and he chose to stay.

Many moons passed would see them to lifemates, and there is no one in the grove that Blackmuck would not lay down his life for. His home, his treasure, his charge.
