Biography
IC 348.
The image above is of a central star cluster known as IC 348. (That's what ICTFE stands for)
Those beautiful whispy wing like curtains are reflecting the stars light are known as a "Reflection Nebula"; it's a interstellar material that also includes carbon-holding molecules called "polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons" or "PAHs".
The bright star closest to the center are actually TWO type B stars! (Teamwork really is dream work) The gravitational winds from these stars are theorized to may be what is causing those beautiful loops you see in the earlier mentioned Reflection Nebula!
IC 348 can be found in the Perseus constellation and is 1,000 light-years from Earth and .6 light-years wide!
