Isfrid | They/Them MAGE OF HOARFROST art credit @ ClottonCandy on th, oc belongs to me Outwardly, Isfrid is a person who presents themself as very calm, clever, and level-headed; they are polite, knowledgeable, and ultimately harmless - little more than a somewhat antisocial scholar who sticks to the books; someone who can always be found in a quiet library, or traveling in comfortably-silent company with the guard they've hired to keep them safe on their travels. |
Under their rather blanketed surface persona, however, Isfrid is a very conflicted person. They are prone to becoming loyal to a fault, which is why they generally avoid seeking and creating strong connections when they can, lest those loyalties eventually come to clash. Though they are very grateful to their mother (the deity Articuno), they harbor conflicting feelings towards the god who raised them, wishing to make her proud without harming others in the process -- a task of which proves itself to be rather difficult. For that reason, they constantly teeter on their makeshift balancing act of both pleasing their mother's desires for them, and handling the newfound menagerie of "friends" they seem to have gathered. Their emotions, too, always run the risk of cracking. They'd much rather be known as a polite and calm scholar, than a terrified, helpless disaster. And that's not even touching on their proclivity to becoming unhealthily obsessed with things around them of importance, be it their mother's approval, a specific task, or the people they've come to love. |
