Name origin: Hebrew word reym or reëm gets translated into both Unicorn and Auroch wild ox and sometimes Oryx, depending on the translator, so Oryx for “unicorn if you so choose to see one” ;)

Familiar origin: Nightmare for red unicorn, Carrioncorn if I feel like swapping out and bonding both that day

Personal lore: lives like a motionless topiary, gets all her nutrients by soil and rain/ambient moisture. Guards the lair entrance and when someone she doesn’t like comes by or someone playing rough and careless trips over her she unleashes Entangling Roots like World of Warcraft Druid to trap them in place, suffocate, constrict with thorns and skin abrasions. Those roots are her own body extensions, but no one is sure if her roots actually lock her to the ground - but in fact Oryx is free to move about but sees no reason to. Like her Pearlcatcher mentors, she is content to sit back and wait for the world to bring her offerings, except that nature provides all the offerings she needs. Her sibling is one of the Carousel clan guardians in their own clan, but Oryx’s first impulse is to ask “What’s in it for you?” after being the protege under the wing of her self-centered adopted mentors.
