Biography

rough notes, needs layout

Origin: absinthy’s Electronic Hues Hatchery » Synthwave for 30g

Name origin: legendary bird from Philippines

Familiar origin: must be flying type, must be bright and multicolored. Vile Grin is a great favorite.

Info: Loves hunting in air as the chase and fun, loves any excuse to be in air doing acrobatics, rests in the highest tree with view of everything so “sentry” but more like just enjoying endorphins and MORE AIR. BFF is earthbound wingless Pearlcatcher the Pearl Cerdae named Auroch aww.
________

Wikipedia lore: The Sarimanok is a legendary bird of Philippine mythology. It comes from the words sari and manok. Sari means "assorted" or "various", while manok originally meant "bird" as evidenced by early Spanish colonial sources, but came to mean only "chicken", which is how it is understood today (i.e. the creature is a "bird/chicken of assorted colors").

The Sarimanok is the legendary bird that has become an ubiquitous symbol of Maranao art. It is depicted as a fowl with colorful wings and feathered tail, holding a fish on its beak or talons. The head is profusely decorated with scroll, leaf, and spiral motifs. It is said to be a symbol of good fortune.

The Sarimanok is derived from a totem bird of the Maranao people, called Itotoro. According to the Maranao people, the Itotoro is a medium to the spirit world via its unseen twin spirit bird called Inikadowa. ((But mine is funloving and not spiritual whatsoever and does not have an unseen spirit twin planned in his lore at this time.))
