-Born in the territories bordering both Dragonhome and the Starfall Isles, life has always been full of mystery, intrigue and stories caught between a home steeped in ancient tradition and one so concerned with discovery and magic. Though his small family on the rickety old house out West he grew up with weren't exactly scholarly types or ones to encourage any particular interest in academics and old books, they were the kind to tell stories and superstitions too. In their own way, they still helped to spark Gregor's interest in such tales and the idea of there being some sparks of truth behind them. It wasn't long before he headed out to the Starfall Isles in pursuit of greater education, and only natural then after that that he'd be pointed in the direction of SAR, who are known by most as only an archival facility for stories of the supernatural. With his newly established expertise and insight on traditional regional folklore, Gregor had no issues landing a position within SAR. And it is a position he has maintained for a long time now. ... It's been a difficult, odd time. Not the time he expected. Maybe he settled in fine initially, his life has been interesting and most challenges worth it, but for many there comes a point where you realize that life comes with consequences. Sometimes those consequences are the locking up of a newly discovered society who were discovered as a direct result of your own research and you have to contend with the fact that real people will be caught up and hurt by the work you're doing. Not just stories, mythical figures, but people who don't look as different from you as you'd expect. And you'll forever be known as a monster in their cultures history. No matter how you advocate for them.
-Gregor is not a very exciting or noteworthy fella. The fact of the matter is that SAR employs a lot of people, and most people are just that - nothing exciting. This is a fact of life. The work he does might make up for a lot though, everyone likes stories and many like trying to analyze and contextualize these stories as well, doing so in a setting with some very bizarre but real cases is interesting. Gregor thinks so anyway, he objectively really enjoys what he does. He thinks SAR is doing some very fascinating work, he can't really see himself wanting to work somewhere else. Especially with the pay and job security he has. Next to just a passion for folklore, fairytales, and research, his biggest concern is just stability. Making it through every day. The Starwood Strand isn't the easiest place to live in, with the divide between the working class neighbourhoods and the middle class suburbs growing deeper and more unstable as the town continues trudging on through the Starfall Isles current economic depression. The anxiety is what's kept his head in the game, kept him going even through the Veilspun incident. He's slowing down these days, as his guilt overshadows his passion and he finds himself drawing away from dragons outside of the workplace more and more. But ultimately, no matter how tired Gregor feels, he can't afford not to go to work. And... well, uh, why wouldn't he want to go anyway? It's... objectively a very good job and those are hard to find........
-Not Partnered, though Eliza's attempts have gone unnoticed. He just can't bring himself to consider dating someone working under SAR who doesn't see the faults he does.
