The bar is dim, but lively. Dragons from far and wide have gathered to have a drink, have a snack, to converse with friends… And most importantly, to watch the performance. Everybody knows that the performers from this bar are world-class, and they pay a pretty penny to be in their presence for just one evening. It’s a long wait, the owner of the bar likes to drag things out, make it dramatic. The performance always starts half an hour late, just to keep guests on their toes.

Then, after those guests have waited for long enough, the stage lights suddenly turn on. Special lights that shine in a pink hue. And onto the stage lands a Fae, adorned in silks and bells. Her eyes stare emotionlessly into the crowd and she speaks no words. After a moment of silence, the music starts to play and the Fae starts dancing. Her form is impeccable, her movement seems almost impossible. The entire crowd is enraptured, sitting on the edge of their chairs.

The music grows louder and the Fae’s movement grows wilder, faster and more snappy. During the entire performance, she doesn’t blink once, and it’s as if the music has taken control of her body, leaving her no choice but to perform. The crowd is also controlled by the music, nobody utters a word while the Fae dances on stage. As the music swells more and more, and the Fae’s movement grows more and more wild, the whole performance erupts into a crescendo as its finish, with the Fae performing a spectacular move that should definitely not be possible.

The music ends, and the Fae takes a couple of deep breaths to catch some air, before she bows deeply towards the crowd. And that crowd explodes into cheers and applause. This is what they’ve been waiting for after all.
