Biography
Do you ever think to yourself: “I wish I had a lightning rod”, or: “If only there was a way to quickly ground a power source that’s critically malfunctioning right about now“, or maybe: “How am I ever going to help my brightly colored, long-haired associate get rid of all the excess charge accumulated in their fur that’s currently making them look like a quadrupedal pompom”?
Wonder no more, because R.O.D.s are here for you.
Ridgeback Overload Dissipators (R.O.D.s) are your absolute best choice for dealing with unexpected breakdowns, power surges and/or other miscellaneous happenstances of electrical disposition. Equipped with revolutionary Hazardously Overloaded Resource Neutralizer (H.O.R.N.) technology, these highly-skilled technicians are able to quickly redirect excess electricity away from any dragon or device, all from an arguably reasonable distance of one keratinous protrusion; when faced with an overloaded asset, they bury their claws, tails and wingtips into the earth and gently prod the object/individual with their horn, producing a controlled discharge which is then swiftly deposited into the ground.
With metallic bodies providing ample opportunities for uncontrolled current traversal, R.O.D.s implement several safety features to ensure swift and coordinated charge dissipation. The Super–Conductive Anatomy Level Enhancements (S.C.A.L.E.s) chart a pathway of least resistance along Ridgeback's body, directing the electricity towards the dragon’s extremities and away from the numerous spines that, if not secured properly, can – and will – cause spontaneous lightning discharges, which are, in technical terms, not a good thing.
To further discourage unscheduled sparking, R.O.D.s adorn their wings with a vast array of antistatic fabric cloths, to be absolutely, positively, 100% certain that even if an errant spark does escape the metallic containment of dragon’s frame – it does not get very far. Wayward Ion Neutralizing Garments (W.I.N.G.s) can also be used to instantly reduce the amount of charge accumulated on large surfaces, as well as provide a handy implement for cleaning smudged lenses or removing recent coffee spills.
(Internal note: W.I.N.G. product version not final. Patent pending fire resistance recertification.)
When voltage runs as high as tensions, remember: R.O.D.s have you covered.
