Backstory:

Born under the gleaming lights of the Sunbeam Ruins, a young fae found herself drawn to the Arcane realm by a deep fascination and a startling passion for the study of space and celestial objects. She left her nest with grand plans to join the ranks of the Arcanist, to study the skies and planets and stars from the Observatory, under the guidance of the most suitable and most knowledgeable deity. With only a passable knowledge of scavenging and survival, and armed with a pack full of notes, she made her way through the Tangled Wood and Scarred Wasteland partly through skill, partly through luck, and largely through sheer thickheaded stubbornness and an iron will.

On the last leg of her journey, she stopped to rest with a small clan, based (at the time) in the Crystalspine Reaches, and, well. (She won't tell anyone what convinced her to stay, when she was so set on going- she will huff, clutch her necklace and loudly proclaim that "the Arcanist wouldn't have had time to mentor me anyway- he's always so busy. Besides, the Scholars at the Observatory rarely have time to run their own studies- what's the point? Shut up and grab me another Multi-Lens Magnifier; I've almost got this figured out.")

After long periods of debate with the clan heads involving a ridiculous number of diagrams and reference books, Ampere (newly named, for a new beginning), carved out her own place as the clan's astronomer and ("for practicality's sake") meteorologist. (These two job descriptions mesh...unfortunately often in the Starfall Isles anyway.)

Still, her decision to stay with the clan has not quelled her passion, and she is almost always the loudest proponent for clan expansion and movement- she'll drag the rest of the clan to the Observatory kicking and screaming, if she has to. Aglaea thinks this is hilarious. Nomos just wants to know how she's getting anything done between being locked in her study-tent and dragging prospective Scholars through Harpy's Roost.

Clan Relationships:

Deeply fond of her mate, Volt. Due to her headstrong personality, gets along badly with Eris and Nomos, though she's strangely quite friendly with Letus. Get along very badly with Euthymia. You can't be sure who is going to start the next fight, but you can bet your cul they're going for each other's throats (though, frankly neither of them can actually understand what the other is saying, so their fights mostly end with words getting louder and things getting broken).

It's possible this..."rivalry" is due to miscommunication, as Ampere's Fae accent is often very strong, and Euthymia's Common is probably worse. Still, it's actually more probable that it's two loudly opinionated dragons butting heads.

Famously friendly with Aglaea and Eros.

Most hatchlings are afraid of her (or perhaps afraid of Wattson, but we'll never know).

Personality:

Headstrong, more than willing (often too willing) to fight for what she wants when she wants it. Has little in terms of patience, though she understands the theoretical necessity of taking things in steps and stages. Is occasionally capable of startlingly deep affection and sentimentality, though she's brusque in her ways of showing it.

That being said, she's pretty much married to her work and has honestly found her life's calling in astronomy. Scarily competent, sharp-witted, and equally sharp-tongued, she'll do what it takes to remove whatever is standing in the way of her science.

Wattson:

No one knows when he showed up. No one can remember if he came with Ampere to the Clan, or if he came separately. Literally no one but Ampere can ever remember hearing him talk, and the only reason they know the Storm Seeker's name is because Ampere told them.

He's always there though, just outside Ampere's lab. Silent. Watching. Waiting.

He helps Ampere with her work, and they share meals. Apparently.
