Biography

--AU lore--
Ennyn was once considered a very powerful and wealthy drake, greatly feared and revered, not cruel but with little regard for others.
Only one day, as she flew over vast lengths of farm land, high into the clouds she gazed down and saw a man more beautiful than any she had seen before in her long life.
So she would return every evening, flying over this village where her object of affection resided until one day she cast aside her great strength and her wealth and her magic and became a woman.

She appeared, nude and jubilant with love, before him and he rebuked her. Horrified by her indecency he berated her and sent her away.
"I have given up my great power and wealth and home to be with you, please at least tell me your name." She begged him.
"You have no power or wealth or home. Speak to me again when one of these things is not true." And he left her in the town alone.

She found and old man, a glassblower, who struggled to care for himself and his home and his business and asked him for a place to stay in exchange for any service she could provide.
He, with no other living family, agreed and took her on as a maid and apprentice.
After a span of several years, she was accomplished her in craft and the old man died peacefully in his sleep and with no relatives, she assumed possession of his home and workshop.

Again she approached the beautiful man, this time dressed in simple working clothes, he was older now and his fine features were slightly creased with time.
"I have no great power or wealth, but I have a home and profession. I love you. Please at least tell me your name."
The man scowled in distaste.
"You have no power or wealth. Speak to me again when one of these things is not true." He shooed her away from the door of his tailor's shop, the resplendent fabrics behind him glinting richly in the lamp light.

She dedicated herself with making the most stunning and clever glassworks she could, intricate figurines and delicate cups and goblets and vases of twisting colors and patterns. Thinner and more finely made than any other glass work for leagues.
She found an apprentice to help and teach and she hired a merchant to travel and sell her works to lords and would-be kings and queens. Dukes and Barons and Mayors and Thanes sought her out for her incredible craftsmanship and years passed. She kept the small house and workshop her master had and she slowly grew her wealth.

Again she approached her love, his hair dulled with streaks of grey, his skin wrinkled but still fair, and he was still the most beautiful man she had ever seen. He glowered at her unchanged face, his eyes hard and angry.
"I have no great power, but I have a home and I have wealth. I only wish for you to tell me your name, I will ask nothing more of you."
"You have no great power. Speak to me again when that is not true." And he slammed the door in her face viciously.

Power, Ennyn thought with determination. Her own magic was cast away and lost to her. But other magics existed in this world.

For a handful of years she remained in the village, just until her apprentice was a master and could manage the shop alone. And then she set out with little else than a bag on her back and a bag of coin.
She would find power.
She traveled for a long time, reading tomes and scrolls and researching the types of powerful magics found in all sorts of artifacts. She consulted witches and alchemists. It took time, but she found it. An artifact that would grant a person one wish.
It took longer still to retrieve it, it was perilous and as close to impossible as something could be, but she secured it. Wrapped tightly in fabric woven with spun gold she cradled it like a child the entire trip back to the village, buoyed by the chance to fulfill the final task given to her.

His shop was dim and no longer bustling, but he opened the door when she knocked. His hair stark white, his back hunched, and his skin sagging in valleys, he stared at her in silence.
"I have a home, I have wealth, and now I have power. Please, all I ask is the pleasure of knowing your name. If you would only give me that, I will be happy." She held the luxuriously wrapped artifact towards him. Silence persisted, his face grave and his eyes dark.
"What power do you have?"
"Magic, it will grant you one singular wish." Carefully she unbound the fabric to reveal a sparkling round blue stone roughly the size of an orange and smooth like a glass bauble.

Power, Ennyn thought sadly, not knowing any way to regain her power. She mourned quietly for the love she felt was lost.

So she taught her apprentice until she was a master of the craft herself, and she left the workshop and home to her. Ennyn moved into a small house more central in town and spent her time helping her community when it was needed. Years passed of her minding children, cleaning homes, manning shops. Giving advice to any that sought to ask her, sure of her wisdom and mystified by her unchanging physical existence. And slowly, without thought or intent, she found herself a pillar amongst the villagers.
The mayor himself praised her for her fairness and judgement from the seat of power in which she sat.

And so she went to her love once more, buoyed by the chance to fulfill the final task he had given her.
His shop was dim and no longer bustling, but he opened the door when she knocked. His hair stark white, his back hunched, and his skin sagging in valleys, he stared at her in silence.

"I have a home, I have wealth, and I have power within this village. Please, all I ask is the pleasure of knowing your name. If you give me that, I will be happy."
Silence persisted, and the man's face morphed into a visage of impudent rage.
