He was hunting alone, in the Charged Barrens, enjoying the feeling of sand slinking through his claws, when she crashed into him. Momoka. The latter apologised for her clumsiness, but Tethys forgave her. To make up for it, Momoka offered Tethys a meal with her clanmates in her lair. Tethys accepted the offer, and since then, had forgiven her and lived with the rest of the clan. The two grew closer, even having a clutch of hatchlings together. But not everything was as perfect as it seemed. Two of their children had been kidnapped, leaving only one of their hatchlings, Starfall. Momoka and Tethys taught Starfall all they knew. One day, Momoka had vanished, leaving a note saying that she had wanted to serve the Gladekeeper. and was exalted. Tethys, out of grief, remained hibernating for several weeks, not even noticing when Starfall, the last of his kin, had been exalted herself, until a new member of the clan, a Veilspun called Heritage, had told him so.

This was extremely detrimental to the clan, because Tethys is a healer, and since this healer was refusing to interact with others, the clan was essentially screwed.

During his self-induced time-out, a new Sandsurge had joined the clan. This dragon was named Magma. The two talked about their problems with their lives. Eventually, the two had fallen for each other, but Tethys had grown incredibly over protective over Magma and their new children. However, Tethys had appeared to have been cursed by the deities, it seemed, since all but one of his new, abundant set of children had mysteriously vanished. Coral. But like her half sister, Coral had been exalted. Tethys grew cold, and no longer felt any sort of sympathy for anyone in the clan.
