Aurum is one of Stormthorn's best and fiercest warriors, but she is also one of its most reckless. Because of this, Aurum gets into trouble with her superiors a lot. She also dislikes rules and orders, and bends, breaks, or ignores them at every opportunity. Her skills as a warrior are too valuable to the clan, though. The solution was to make her part of a group of elite clan warriors who have much greater autonomy and take on specific missions. Aurum is closely watched, but the elite warriors always take on missions as a group, so its easy for her superiors to keep an eye on her.

Aurum is a Nature dragon, but seems to have a much greater than average aptitude for Fire magic, because her egg was kept, and she hatched, in an area where a small amount of Fire magic was present. Her fiery personality also contributes.

Argentum is her soul-bound mate, and her one and only love.
