Biography
The "Self-Updating" Tome Of REDACTED:
Calm, cool, and collected, Moondrip is as serene as her namesake. Gifted with both a water and ice magical affinity, she is the head of the _____ research group within the _____ guild. Her group focuses on ______.
Moondrip is a graduate of the _____ Academy, a university with the goal of teaching new generations of researchers, mages, and inventors. It is here that Moondrip met Assathalia. Being students at the top of their class, and sharing a love of learning, it is no wonder they became fast friends. When Assathalia founded their guild, she was one of the first they reached out too. Moondrip quickly accepted, and became one of the first members of the _____ guild.
The final requirement for graduating as a mage from the _____ Academy is solving immortality. Not immortality for everyone, just your own personal immortality. The test has two meanings and potential outcomes. For most graduates, it is a lesson in humility. There will be problems they cannot solve outright and need to find workarounds for. Most graduating mages write a book on their life learnings and enchant the book to update by itself as the mage lives their life. Once their life is over, the book ends, and it is added to the library of the Arcanist and the mages gain a form of literary immortality. However, a select few of graduates ... miss this particular lesson. These graduates take the harder path and actually achieve personal immortality. It is very rare, one or two in a generation. Moondrip is one such graduate.
After a few years of research with Assathalia, Moondrip finally came clean to her and explained that she was much older than she appeared. When the two had met, it was not, in fact, Moondrip's first time attending the university, but her third. Every couple of centuries, Moondrip has made a habit of attending university to both refresh her knowledge and keep up with the times. Moondrip's particular form of immortality stopped her physical aging through a form of self-healing and preservation magics unique to her affinities. She has discovered that life is easier to live if one does not stand out quite so much, and hides her true nature by pretending to be one of her own descendants. Even the name "Moondrip" is not her actual first name, but her current alias.
