some thoughts about both dlc legends and kieran

hot take; i dont agree with the sentiment that kieran should have gotten ogerpon/that we "stole her" from him. due to a mixture of "ogerpon see's us as a fellow outsider who has been accepted and connects with us because of that" and "keiran doesnt really see ogerpon as ogerpon during the teal mask story, he sees her as the ogre. a figure of strength, a raging beast, and not the grieving lonely gremlin she actually is. yes he's the only one who, in the town, likes her but its of this false idea of her based on the mixed up story that he's put on a pedestal." (obviously the latter is being worked on after the dlc, when he's in the clubroom he does correct himself and refer to her as ogerpon! but the point still stands, and by this point we've already bonded with ogerpon, you wouldnt want to rip another trainer away from her would you?)


i DO however hold the opinion that kieran absolutely shouldve been allowed to keep terapagos. (mainly because, unlike ogerpon, we arent really given time to build a connection with terapagos, so i dont mind letting him have it as much as i do with ogerpon who we DO bond with during her story)

he is the one who awoke him, and its due to sheer dumb luck and Protagonist Plot Armor that it saw us and started walking over to us. baby just woke up and walked over to the first person he saw (likely assuming we were the one to awaken him).


yeah he hecked up a little terastalizing it, but um. thats briars fault. i am blaming her. girl was in the wrong during like, that entire fiasco.

kieran was just following the instructions of his teacher. she was the adult in the situation she should have reigned in her hyperfixation/ambition/hubris, girl could have waited until we werent in a crystal cavern and werent at risk of being crushed in a cave-in if something were to happen.
get to a better location (ie BACK ON THE SURFACE OF AREA ZERO RATHER THAN THE CAVES???) for scientific studies instead of terastalizing the fainted/hurt baby in a cavern filled with terastal energy that might just end up overloading the poor thing (OR AT LEAST LET US HEAL IT FIRST, ARCEUS.)

and yes it broke the masterball which could be seen as a "i dont want you as my trainer" but. that was the energy from the shield doing the breaking, not terapagos. too much power broke the ball. if we'd fought it and THEN he recalled it, it would have worked just fine.



anyways in my little retelling of scarvi (that uses my splatoon oc's anarchy & depth because I Am A Simp For Them And They Control My Every Action Like Ratatouille) anarchy, the main protag stand in for the dlcs, gives kieran terapagos after everythings all said and done because they already have ogerpon, and terapagos needs a strong trainer to help it control its powers.

and kieran deserves a second chance now that he's no longer clouded by the drive to beat them. also terapagos is in a friend ball (possibly recoloured to match terapagos, but still a friend ball), mainly to trick him when anarchy gives it to him (as ogerpon is also in a friend ball). but also. because they're friends! its a reminder that they're his friend, as well as to treat terapagos as a friend, not a tool!
