Nicola's role within the clan is uncertain, as she seems to hold no particular responsibilities, but one thing is for sure. She's the master of the anything related to dice, cards, or any sort of chance.
Paradox has challenged her to an unmeasured amount various games, but each time the result is the same; Nicola pulls out on top. Sometimes it's by a landslide, or maybe she'll seem behind the whole game, only to win by some strange amount of luck. More than once, fights have nearly broken out when Alaska screeches at her for cheating. Paradox and Enigma have stacks upon stacks of paper recording patterns, percentages, and odds, but they are entirely unable to explain the phenomenon.

Nicola has difficultly maintaining close relationships with most other dragons, due to her strange cryptic ways of speaking. Ask her how her day has been, and she'll probably tell you the hedgehogs are migrating. Often, she'll seemingly get frustrated with her own responses, but her fury only makes it even harder for her to speak coherently. Due to this, Nicola has resorted to barely speaking and tries to express herself in other ways such as the same sign language that Salanth uses or other more animalistic sounds.

The first time Nicola met Anselma, she started at her for a good ten seconds before blurting 'better than dice.' Pinnacle hurriedly tried to explain that Nicola always spoke so cryptically. But Anselma didn't seem bothered at all. Instead, she simply turned to Nicola with a quizzical and asked,"Did you just call me pretty?" Nicola managed a tiny nod before fleeing to her cave in embarrassment.

Now, Nicola can often be found near where Anselma guards the clan's nests, where they play various dice games (Paradox finds it quite amusing that Nicola's magic seems to have turned on her and Anselma always wins) and happily chattering with someone who can somehow decipher her speech.
