Greatly obsessive and ambitious in his goals, going to great lengths to plan and execute his goals. Gary Stu is domineering, cunningly using words and intimidation rather than threats or violence to gain his way with others, and arrogant in his thoughts to think himself higher in status than those around him, ignoring the laws and rules set by those in charge. Very intelligent despite his self centered ways.

History

Gary is a Nocturne Dragon known through his clan as a force to be reckoned with, useful enough to them to ignore his disastrous tendencies.

He was born not in Sornieth but rather in what could be considered another Universe or an Alternate Timeline to the one the creatures of Sornieth lead, coming to be where he is now through strange and uncontrollable anomalies through space and time. He was a young hatchling when he appeared in Sornieth, and the Clan that found him was ignorant to his circumstances, selling him off as fodder. The only thing that saved him from a life of fighting for dominance under the name of a mysterious god was the beautiful magenta colors of his wings. He was taken in by a clan from The Shifting Expanse, their home nestled in the steep cliffs at the edge of the desert.

As he grew, strange powers began to manifest within him. It started with talking to empty air and dark shadows, saying he saw those who the clan knew to be long passed. When he slipped and fell into a lake, he was thought to have drowned when he disappeared below the water for what seemed like endless time. When his body surfaced, he was alive and breathing, speaking of how he felt no water in his lungs as he breathed without restriction. Thick, dark veins under his skin began sprouting thorns, eventually emerging fully as vines he could control with ease and use upon others. With his growing powers came trouble.

When Gary's strange abilities started showing, so too did an innate disdain for other Nocturnes manifest. At first he only glared, hissed and growled, acting defensive and trying to be threatening to keep other Nocturnes away. when he got bigger, he started lunging and snapping, fully ready to fight until he or the other dropped. After a series of incidents, he was restrained and the leaders of the clan managed to talk him down from attacking the other Nocturnes, managing to keep him separated from the others with much avoidance of the other Nocturnes from Gary. Not long after, he had begun collecting papers, writing in unintelligible words he spoke nothing about, even when questioned. Nocturnes began to disappear from the clan after a while, his writings mounting higher with each one gone.

One day Gary began talking about a great destiny, how he was destined to defeat all evils, great and small. When asked about what these evils were, he spoke of anything that seemed to go against his belief, his opinions, against his great mass of self value. The leaders of the clan grew even more worried about what costs they would pay to keep him in their clan. Many long days were spent talking about Gary in secret, about his strange powers and the high intelligence he had shown since he was taken into the clan, about his development towards other dragons and of himself, of the troubles he caused and the possibilities for his usefulness. The ultimate decision was up to the Clan Leader, Manly McBro and he decided to let Gary stay, wanting to keep such a powerful dragon within their grasp, no matter the risk.

Unfortunately, the risks of Gary were high, and the consequences irreversible. For a time, Gary was assigned to one of the clan's many trading posts selling hatchlings, stationed near one of the strange portals that had once brought him to Sorneith, those these ones only strong enough to travel through space, allowing quick travel and trades. But when he was given Nocturne hatchlings, they would mysteriously disappear without sales or signs of their existence. The only guess the clan cared to give was that Gary would let them play and adventure on their own, and never bothered to collect them back up. Whatever the truth was, they didn't care to know it.

As one problem was solved, another would come up, and soon enough, the clan leaders asked their Seer, Taki, for any advice and predictions for the future. One thing they knew from when they first took in Gary Stu, there was another dragon within their clan who was strangely similar to him, a female Imperial named Mary Sue, who also developed mysterious abilities and a distaste for other Imperials. From the very beginning they knew that the two meeting could cause disaster, and possibly the end of the clan. It seemed the cost was always worth the risk for them, or so they thought, so they think for now. Taki would give her predictions, all the possibilities that could or might not happen. The future was always unknown to them, no matter how hard they tried. They would simply have to continue betting their stakes.
