Anyone who has ever had an appointment with Howl the chronologist knows, she is a meticulous and punctual woman. It's to be expected, seeing as her profession is so focused on the passage of time. They will also find out she has an interesting hobby. As soon as they finish the tea she's brewed, she'll reach for their cup.
"May I?" She asks, her pale blue eyes shimmering behind her golden veil. There's a glimmer of interest that perhaps wasn't there before.
Anyone who has met with Howl and accepted a cup of tea will know, she has a rather vested interest in tasseomancy. She'll ponder and peer into the dregs most would dismiss, pointing out patterns and shapes.
"Ah... This shape here seems to suggest you'll experience a well-needed success in the near future," She murmurs, more to herself than to her guest. "And this shape here..."
Her fellow researchers aren't spared from her fortune-telling either. It isn't uncommon to find Howl in someone else's office, offering them a cup of their favorite blend.
Myrrh once asked her what it was about reading tea leaves that was so enthralling to her, and she confessed that at first, it was more about brewing the tea itself.
"The slightest variation in the temperature of the water or the amount of time the leaves are steeped creates such a vastly different flavor. I wanted to experiment and find the most efficient blend of tea for my personal routine. As I went, I became more and more interested in the shapes formed within the dregs left behind in the cups. I'm still searching for my perfect tea, by the way."
"Well, I do hope you find it one day."
She took a long sip from her cup before giving the liquid a gentle swirl. "oh, don't worry. I will."
