Matthias sometimes rivals Hyperion for the title of Vainest Coatl in the Clan, but how could a dragon not be in love with himself when he looks as good as Matthias does? Usually, however, his sister Mariel is there to knock him off his high roost and keep him humble.

Like his brother Martin, Matthias has studied coliseum battle techniques and is quite good at them. He prefers, however, to talk his way out of conflict and always strives for peace, so he keeps a pouch of interesting and valuable stones and metals at hand to offer up in case trouble starts brewing.

Unless it's trouble with Martin, in which case the feathers are going to fly.

Matthias is a bit artsy and enjoys decorating his personal patch of lair wall with paint he makes himself from plants and minerals he scavenges up. These things are supposed to go into the clan stockpile, but what Shay doesn't know won't hurt her. Matthias loves wearing his flashy Trickmurk accent, despite the fact that Trickmurk ended quite some time ago.
