Xylia Crackle may not be the largest dragon and she may not be the strongest either, but that does not slow the sentinel down. Fueled by the strength of her heart and mind, she can steel herself in the face of even the most threatening of dangers. She stands tall in the face of her own fear and roars in the face of danger, ready to die for everything that she holds dear. In her heart, Xylia Crackle knows that at some point, she may need to be replaced. Perhaps one fight will go on for too long, one blow will be too strong, or perhaps one hit - just an inch too precise. Perhaps other dragons would have shied away at that thought, but not XyliaCrackle. She stands taller knowing that her strength and presence is stronger than any blow in battle.

Xylia Crackle is loyal - but perhaps too loyal. Subservient to her task as though it were some physical being that could truly and utterly care for her, Xylia Crackle obsesses over her role as a guard. Even when the sentinel is given time where she is meant to relax, she finds that she is on edge. Even when she is off-duty, her role as a guard follows her. Deep inside, she finds that she is afraid of being found to be worthless if she cannot carry out her goal. Aware that she is a robot and not flesh and blood, she fears being replaced before she dies - since she believes that she should die in battle, protecting her city and people. Often, it feels as though she follows orders related to her role as a guard without any question - with some dragons beginning to doubt that she can even think for herself at all.

Loyal

Xylia Crackle is fiercely loyal to good and to The Sentinel Tempest. She was created to guard and protect the city and all who find safety inside its walls and so, she will die keeping them safe. Feeling a deep deviation and love for the city, there is nothing Xylia Crackle would hate more than to lose both.

Withdrawn

Both physically and emotionally, Xylia Crackle sits on the top of the highest tower. Withdrawn from the city and the dragons around her, she finds it hard to confide anything in anyone. Seeming aloof and detached from the city she loves to no end, many dragons find the fierce and cold sentinel to be standoffish and almost intimidating.

Protective

Likely a manifestation of her courageous spirit and loyal heart, Xylia Crackle is very protective. Anything that falls under her care is very likely to return with not even a single speck of dirt or dust on it. Protective of everything that she holds dear, Xylia Crackle is a strong dragon driven by her strong desire and passion to protect and defend. In this way, she is the best guard The Sentinel Tempest could have asked for. Many assume that no other dragon is as dedicated to the Tempest as she - some even suspect that not even the King and Queen have as deep of a passion as Xylia Crackle.

Inflexible

Where water splashes and flows with the tide, Xylia Crackle is like a rock. The tide blasts into her but she refuses to move, refuses to bend even slightly to the will of the wave. Xylia Crackle may be a good guard, but she is not very good on the emotional side of things. Guarded and walled off, she comes off as very cold and strict to the rules. Her will is as hard as steel and is something that will not be broken or moved. It is said that only the King and Queen can truly give commands to Xylia Crackle.

Guardian on the Tower

With gold and steel, leather and gemstones, and perhaps more than a little bit of magic, Xylia Crackle, Ironwood-Thorns Breaking Hide was carved from the Earth. Formed by Ripples upon Shimmering Pool, Starless-Dreaming, this sentinel was placed at the top of the tallest tower to protect the dragons of The Sentinel Tempest. Awaking amid a wild, horrible storm, it is said that Xylia Crackle let out a howl and rose above the tower. Disappearing into the clouds, the sentinel drew all the lightning from the clouds- absorbing the electrical might of the storm into herself. Only once the clouds cleared from the sky and the winds whipped themselves tired did she return to her spot atop the tower.

Even now, Xylia Crackle keeps all dragons inside the walls of The Sentinel Tempest safe and protected from danger. All dragons who pass through the gates of the city pass below the great guardian's temple - the feeling of being watched following them until the shadow of the tower no longer falls over them. The presence of Xylia Crackle makes the dragons inside the walls of the Sentinel Tempest feel safe and protected, and those who are wont to visit the city often wonder if the light was tricking their eyes, or if the great guardian had truly dipped her head to them in greeting, as though she were glad to see their safe return.

It is thought that, although Xylia Crackle cares for all, the guardian cares for Starless-Dreaming the most. Being her creator, many wonder how Xylia Crackle sees Starless-Dreaming. Does she see her as a mother? Perhaps as a god? The answer here is unclear, although most know that Starless-Dreaming sees Xylia Crackle as one of her children.
