Biography
THE FASHIONISTO, THE GOLD HOARDER
Meticulous | Exuberant | Quirky
Meticulous | Exuberant | Quirky
|
A finicky, gold-obsessed Skydancer, Kiran has a passion for aesthetic. He is quite vocal about his obsession with gold, often remarking how pleasantly smooth and refreshing the feeling of gold is against his feathers and skin, and wears his golden Gembond affliction with great pride. He's had many hatchlings, some with a dragon named Purnima but most with miss Mayari (who easily won him over with her beautiful hidden goldenrod coloring, the same affliction that he has - initially emerged as crackles in her pattern and eventually molting as it was replaced with Gembond.) Mayari eventually answered the call of the Lightweaver, much to the sorrow and loneliness of Kiran... He plans to conceive a daughter to find companionship again. But his deep passion for gold does not render him unable to appreciate the aesthetic of other colors and combinations. For a small donation, he is always willing to fly over and review a lair, passing worthy compliments or criticisms to the maintainer of the lair. And, as someone who highly values appearances, the first grown dragon in the lair is whom he meets before all else: first impressions are highly important and indicative of the quality of the lair he is about to enter, he believes. |
When it comes to obsessions, none are more persistent and loyal to their passions than Kiran the Skydancer. Though the quip of dragons obsessively collecting gold is not necessarily a new or exciting concept, Kiran is quite the picture of the so-called “dragon sickness”. His obsession with gold causes him to pick at his gembond scabs, growing larger and thicker golden gems. He jealously hoards piles of gold, received from gifts and tribute. His best friends are other dragons that have a beautiful golden sheen to them. He is a bit strange with his obsession, loving to wedge pieces of the metal in his feathers and feel it on his skin. He does regularly weird some other dragons out with that schtick. But his appreciation for gold is not his only sense of taste - he has a generally broader sense of aesthetic, and visits other lairs to critique them. He’s the one most responsible for assembling the costume of the dragons in the lair that he shares, and enjoys organizing the apparel closet as well as he enjoys rolling in the piles of treasure he hoards. The lair mostly avoids letting him manage the finances, though unleashing him as fashion police serves them all well. Most everyone is well-dressed due to his assistance, and Kiran’s wife Mayari reigns him in before things escalate beyond reason. |
