Warrior couldn't open his eyes. The pain was too much for him. As he lay there, in a pool of blood, he thought to himself, Is this how I die? Miserable, on a beach, in a puddle of blood? If I hadn't listened to her... would I still be alright? He tried to move his tail, but couldn't. Warrior felt a sharp, burning pain shoot up his body. But soon he couldn't feel anything. He could only hear what was around him. The sound of the waves crashing on the sand, the gulls crying as they flew through the air. And... heavy breathing? It wasn't his breathing, that was for sure. Warrior's breaths were sharp; short and shallow breaths. The ones he heard were deep... deep and loud, as if there was a massive dragon standing over him. He still couldn't feel anything. But he heard the breaths get louder. And then they were gone.

"He's not from here, is he?"
Warrior didn't recognize that voice. It was a female voice, similar to one that he had heard before. Is she coming back to kill me? Warrior thought, Oh well... it's not like I can do anything. Warrior could feel his body again. He wished he couldn't. He felt like he was burning. His scales stung, and every breath brought sharp, agonizing pain to his chest. Warrior felt something pressed against his back. It was cold. He wanted to scream.
"I've never seen an Auraboa around here... A living one, at least."
A male voice. It was deep and harsh, and whoever was speaking sounded tired. He must have been the dragon that had found him on the beach. Warrior heard a heavy sigh.
"You can go now," The male dragon said, "I can deal with him myself."
Warrior heard light footsteps, then another deep sigh. He felt whatever that was on his back be lifted, then a single claw on his throat. The claw was removed after a few moments. The dragon turned Warrior onto his back and put his claw on Warrior's chest. He heard the male dragon grunt and remove his claw from Warrior's chest.
"You've been beaten pretty badly, haven't you?" The dragon whispered, "I don't know if you can hear me, but if you can, there is no need to be afraid. No one here will hurt you. You are safe here. My name is Shiro, and I will be your caretaker."

It must have been hours since Warrior had heard Shiro's voice. He only heard shuffles and sighs. Occasionally, something cold would be pressed against a spot on his body. He still couldn't move, but was slowly regaining his strength. Soon, Warrior could open his eyes. Standing over him was a large black Imperial with gold flecks all over his body. He was carefully pressing some ice against one of Warrior's wounds. That must be Shiro. Who else could it be? Shiro noticed that Warrior had woken up and sighed. He took a cloth and placed it on Warrior's face, covering his eyes.
