Biography
Sumac is part of the Lodgers guild where he is responsible for performing maintenance on the buildings in the main clan. Since many of these structures are built into the tree, as the tree grows the houses can move slightly. Often they aren't too major though a branch entering from a wall where there wasn't a branch might break a window or cause a loose plank. Often Sumac is responsible for improving the structure by weaving the very trees into the structure to make it stronger. Sumac works on anything from walkways, houses, to bridges. If it is embedded in a tree, Sumac builds it.
Like many other builders, Sumac is quite large (though we have a foundation layer dragon is medium to large size). So he can struggle to fit fully inside, though thanks to his more flexible body he can fit his tail or winged arm through or tail. Sumac like the rest of his species has a poisonous venom which he uses alongside his powers to assist him. His power allows his venom to produce a potent spray that will not harm plants when he spits his venom on the flora. Instead it seeps into the plant to where Sumac can than use his abilities to pull the water toward him and thus help the tree shift whereas it would otherwise be more ridged. However, his venom has an effect that dragons should be aware of. Until the venom dries it can cause awful rashes and itchiness that can be quite annoying to deal with. This is also how Sumac handles Tricksters looking to cause trouble, though he is sorry to any dragon who have to find Patchi to get an antidote to reduce the itch.
Sumac often visits his daughter, Helia, who lacks any potent venom to defend herself. As a first generation, he often is resistant to the pull to fall asleep though unlike his daughter he often can fall asleep whenever. He tries his best not to be inside the house while he works on it and often works quickly to set up the foundation in the trees as to avoid falling asleep and halting constructing, or worse blocking entry to a dragon. Luckily if he does fall asleep, the imperials in the guild are on the case to move him. His favorite place to stay is in the canopies in the Auraboa Arboretum. Many branches and leaves woven together making beautiful structures between the trees, and woven baskets and flowers that hang down from the nests where they sleep. Often his Lodgers take him there since it is often nearby. They often call Helia who or Lily to come wake him up if they need him since they don't require sleep like a traditional Auraboa.
