Biography

Navahine
The Spiritual
Shaman tier 2 | nature rep | herbalist | gardener
wowkosmol_by_mangosalad15-daplfp2.gif

Return to @InHerWake. Nest with Gingerbreadman.
Her name is pronounced Navah-hee-neh. And yes, her name it is derived (and deliberately misspelled) from the song, "Nah Wahine", because I already have a dragon named Wahine lol. She was a big surprise Christmas gift from my good friend and mentor, Cewientje. She's a pretty island girl!
Quote:
The Shamans of this clan are the healers, energy workers, oracles, and naturalists. They have four skill levels called tiers; Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. The higher the tier, the stronger the magic they wield. Each can have their own unique responsibilities. Tier 4 Shamans are rare in that it is very difficult to achieve.

Shaman tier 3: Shamans of the third highest skill level and proficient in magic are commonly placed in this tier. They have more responsibilities and offer more specific services than those of the lower tiers. They have a wide range of magical abilities anywhere within the light and grey areas of the spectrum. Those who train more towards the grey area tend to be field medics and fighters on the battlefield. Those who train more towards light tend to stay within the clan as healers and oracles. They can communicate with all kinds of powerful spirits to gain their insight and may even request their power and abilities if needed. They can be strict and serious teachers and take on only one student at a time for no less than 2 years and no more than 5 years.

**bio written by dariiksnake
She looks every inch the shaman, even down to the intricate marks on her skin, and of course she loves what she does. Nature blood runs more strongly in her veins than most, but her talents have always veered into the supernatural: not just talking and listening to the spirits of the good earth and all that grows from it; but also sometimes to those dearly passed, or even to the smaller secret things that run all the little common miracles of the natural world, which are her most favored of them all. Without them, after all, their great and sacred forest would be nothing, and as much as the less attuned dragons revere only the grandest and most obvious forces, so few ever think to turn their thoughts to the little things that still work every day to help them survive.

But she can still praise them herself. And even though she feels she simply is doing what is right, she is constantly repaid with good bounty in her plantings, good luck in her endeavors...and sometimes even greater things, when she absolutely needs to ask such favors of them. Thankfully, it's much rarer than it is in unluckier parts of the world, and even when she's called on to heal, it's rarely if ever due to outright attacks...they're blessed, in that regard.

But she has that viewpoint sorely tested here, on occasions, when she has a more foolish or headstrong clanmate trying to bait her into an argument. It's a little easier than it should be to do so! But her heart is as fiery as her shining red hide, and once she starts in on a debate, it is incredibly difficult to get her out of one until she herself feels like she's finished with it...which can take quite a long time. But what can she say? She brooks no nonsense, and does her best to make sure the others know it and remember it. Those in her good graces, though, can expect to have a steadfast friend, willing to stay with them and help through thick and thin, no matter what it takes, and even strangers can expect a friendly smile and an offer to try some of her latest harvests, if they'd like.

As long as they have no ill will towards the clan or the spirits, anyone is welcome to visit her home.

Exalting Navahine to the service of the Shadowbinder will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
