LUGH FULGURITE
The Ingenious Engineer
|
Lugh was another early member of the clan, hatched in the hustle and bustle of the Lightning Farm. As he grew up there he acquired the mechanical prowess that still serves him well today, but found that the ruthless efficiency and systematic nature of the Flight did not sit well with him. Hoping to avoid a future of bureaucratic science, he found his way to a local Auction House outpost to seek their advise, hoping that their planet-wide connections would help him find a less business-like clan in need of a dragon like him. Eventually, he happened to get in touch with a small group of dragons trying to make it big in Dragonhome, and he jumped at the opportunity. In those bygone years, before the Demesne bore its current name, the Wildclaw primarily served as a hunter and gatherer, sometimes banding with the others to fight off the threats offered by the Shattered Plains. He also began working with Wahieloa on intellectual projects, and the two gained a lot of knowledge through their studies, building on the skills they already had.
His Lightning origins still shine through today, as Lugh serves as the clan's chief engineer. He designs most of the machines and systems needed around the lair- electrical lighting and similar conveniences, ways of collecting water, defense apparatus at den entrances, and so forth. These projects of his frequently bring him into collaboration with the other scientific and inventive minds of the Demesne, particularly Wahieloa and Myrrh, and also with its smiths and builders, Svarog, Malware, and Uroloki. Lugh also serves as a member of the Council, having been around the clan practically from its beginning, and likes to come up with smaller-scale and less essential inventions in his free time. He co-founded the clan library with Wahieloa and Ankou to house their research, and now spends much of his time in the ever-expanding archives, poring over tomes on engineering as he draws up blueprints of his own.
Lugh is also rather fond of music, a passion which he seems to have passed down to Galle, although unlike his son his performing talent is merely moderate. He also has a huge sweet tooth. He's industrious and efficient at his work, but very gratified that in his current home he can be this way by choice, rather than forced to work hard by being screamed at. He can be fairly impatient, but deals with it quietly rather than complaining about it. A Lightning Lancer came to be his companion during a trip back to the Shifting Expanse, when he was looking to do some research on new mechanical designs, and it now assists him with testing out his inventions.
