Basic premise-
Hatched within Shadow lands without ever knowing family or ever other dragons. Grew among the pine trees and thus being an impressionable Nocturne, a young one at that, she literally ended up taking the appearance of them, their barky-colors emulating on her skin. Upon their migrations the monarchs alight themselves to the trees for winter, and since they were the only other form of life other than the trees she knew, her imprintation from them grew. Now as she flies, she flits, just as her butterfly "friends" did, her wings opening and closing as she rests.
She was found by Baobab during a routine quest to Shadow to spread their plentiful goods in the form of a "flower bomb." The coatl being tree-like himself spotted the Nocturne as her wings fluttered irregularly from one branch to another. Motioning to the strange sight the small venturing group decended, eventually convincing 'Ponderosa,' as they called her due to her home of the pine trees, to come home with them to Nature, the land of trees.
