______ Aspen grew up in a orphanage in a small, bleak, town that was always cloudy, grey, and freezing. She was almost constantly lonely, except when her Snapper friend Lela was around. She never learned how to do basic things, and the only word she ever learned to say was Yes. But that all changed when a mysterious dragon in a tanned rogue outfit walked into her orphanage.
She nervously sat in the corner, never having seen any dragon like them. The dragon slowly approached her “Are you okay darling?” said the dragon, Aspen looked confused, as she’s never been directly spoken to before.
“Y-yes..” said Aspen in a nervous manner. The dragon reaches down to their pocket and pulls out a flower. “Here, you want this?” asked the dragon in a soft tone. Aspen was in awe, she’d never seen something so beautiful, so pure.
“Yes!” said Aspen with a excited tone. “Here you go then little one.” said the dragon. The dragon lifted the flower toward Aspen, the closer it got, the more she lit up with a sense of joy she never felt before. “Would you like to come home with me?” asked the dragon.
Aspen was ecstatic, her face lit up with the most joy she’s ever felt. “Yes!! Yes!!!” shouted Aspen. “Haha! Then let’s go!” the dragon exclaimed.
Aspen came to a sudden realization that she would leave her friend all alone if she left. Aspen rose her arm and pointed at Leia, who was unaware of what was going on, due to her being completely blind. “Oh.. she’s your friend?” asked the dragon. “Yes.” said Aspen.
“Well, I got a friend outside who wanted to adopt a hatchling too, he’s very nice and lives super close to me.” said the dragon. “Would you like that?” he asks.
“Yes!” exclaimed Aspen. The dragon walked over to a confused Lela and picked her up. “Alright then. Now let’s go!” exclaimed the dragon.
They went outside and traveled to their new homes.
Her new home was in a beautiful village nearby a large mountain, where the summers were brisk and a bit cold, but flower often bloomed everywhere, and the sky was always a soft, beautiful color.
Years later.
It’s a beautiful brisk sunny day, Aspen’s mother walks outside to see her sitting near a beautiful field of marigolds, taking pictures and documenting their growth. She’s been doing this for several days now, and she always has a smile on her face when she’s outside. Aspen’s mother walks up to her. “Hey Aspen, how’s the study coming along?” asked her mother. “It’s going great Mom! The flowers are doing amazing!” said Aspen. “That’s great sweetie, awesome job!” said her mother. “Thank you so much! I can’t believe how incredible my life has been since you adopted me.” said Aspen.
Aspen has changed since she was adopted. She strived to learn all there was to know about plant life and flowers, and became a world renowned botanist. She doesn’t live in this clan, but she often stops by to meet with her friend Lela, who lives here.
