My songs know what you did in the dark-- so light it up!

Finch is Ultra's apprentice of sorts. Or, was, and has since graduated to being a formidable fighter in his own right, but that doesn't stop him from chasing around behind her anyway like she's still his mentor. His instincts means he considers the coliseum team his pack, but... unfortunately, that includes Ascension. Not that Finch excuses his behaviour, but it does mean he feels some sort of loyalty to the dangerous imperial.

Like Ultra, Finch's main job is to train other dragons to be able to hold their own against threats. Also like Ultra, he takes it very seriously. That doesn't mean that his technique is a straight copy-paste of the wildclaw's, however; Finch is more lighthearted and often "translates" Ultra's criticism to sound less severe and focuses more on the positive. Not that Ultra is mean on purpose, but it's handy to have someone nearby who can explain what she actually means.

When not doing that, Finch lives up to the reputation of his home flight and is forging armor and gear for both function and fashion. He leaves the alchemy to the alchemists-- he prefers working with fire-tempered steel more than fishing fully-formed objects out of a crucible.
