The [name] are a group of dragons whose fate has become completely entwined with the flow of magic. First appearing in the hatchlings of mages dedicated to the study of ley lines, it's theorized that the consistent strong magical exposure is what began the confluence that resulted in this subspecies, but the exact mechanisms of the connection between the [name] and magic isn't well understood.
Among other effects, these dragons are extraordinarily sensitive to the flow of magic in Sornieth. Many [name] feel drawn toward ley lines-- so although all [name] are Arcane, it's common for [name] to be nomads, traveling throughout the world, and following the magical currents wherever they go. Fairly common among the [name] is a feeling of protectiveness and duty towards magic itself, rather than any particular deity. Many [name] devote their lives to this feeling. Some become trained warriors, in order to better combat the Shade. Others become historians or cultural dracopologists, preserving the knowledge and customs that follow in the wake of magical flow.
Because of their connection to magic, [name] dragons can find themselves physically affected by the status of magic in an area. And in turn, the magical status of an environment can be altered by the mere presence of a particularly strong [name]. As a result, the final days of most [name] involve very particular funerary practices. Since their death could deeply harm the weave of the magic around them,

Founded, some say, by a dragon originally of the Windsinger’s kin, House Dreamstrider’s pupils find themselves most at home working with the curious aethers, spellweaving and recording magical phenomena. They take interest in preservation of the arts, and many Dreamstriders may study for a time in the Lightweaver's halls to bring the knowledge of Ancient Sornieth back to the Observatory. While Dreamstrider dragons are best known for their friendly demeanor, the truth is they're profit machines! Luckily for the rest of the Houses, Dreamstrider dragons are generous by nature and love to share their wealth! more dreamstrider info Original House Lore by suzerain, House Banners by emzynai |
