Tick-Tock Aged Tome Vista: Tinkered Clock Rusted Crown

"..."

H
IDDEN for eons in a hole in Turnback Cave with no exits were the two beings Distortion and Renegade. As they act almost identically, it's impossible to separate Renegade from their twin Distortion, aside from some physical differences: Distortion does not possess any arms or legs, and seems to just float in the air without any effort from their wings. Though the two seem to somehow know Common Draconic, they aren't very talkative, and so their story was given out in bits and pieces over time. The two Aether-like creatures were apparently very aggressive and vengeful long ago and were banished for this behavior to Turnback Cave, never to return to their home realm. They don't even seem to be all that grateful for being freed from their cavern, as they're still imprisoned in this world and simply regard all of Sornieth as a bigger cage.

Though they were trapped in an unknown world for countless millenia, Distortion and Renegade had one another, and so they did not feel loneliness. Nevertheless, the Far Council decided, after hearing of the beings' history of violence, to try and make the two more comfortable with the gift of matching familiars. Proximity to Distortion has had an odd effect on their unnamed Tick-Tock, and its form has begun to flicker in and out, as if it's trying to be in more than one place at the same time.
