Biography
──────────✽──────────
From a young age, Epiales was different from the other Spiral dragons. While his siblings were fascinated by the beauty of gliding through the sky, Epiales was enamored with the tiny creatures that glowed like stars in the night - fireflies. As a hatchling, Epiales would chase after fireflies, trying to catch them in his jaws. However, he quickly realized that he couldn't hold onto them for long, and they would always fly away. Instead, he began to study them, watching their movements and patterns closely, trying to figure out how best to catch them. As he grew older, Epiales became more and more obsessed with fireflies. He would spend hours each night chasing them through fields and forests, determined to catch them once and for all. He even began to collect them, storing them in jars and vials to show to his friends. But there was one friend in particular who he wanted desperately to share his fireflies with. This friend was bedridden, too weak to leave their home and explore the world. Epiales would often visit them, regaling them with stories of his adventures and the wonders of the world beyond their walls. One day, Epiales decided to bring his friend a jar filled with fireflies. He snuck out at night, scouring the nearby fields for the glowing creatures. After several hours of searching, he finally stumbled upon a grove of fireflies. They seemed to be drawn to him, swarming around him as he tried to catch them. With a growing sense of excitement, Epiales finally managed to catch a handful of fireflies. He rushed to his friend's home, eager to show them the wonders he had discovered. But as he burst through the door, he found that his friend had passed away in their sleep. Epiales was devastated. All of his hard work, all of his passion for fireflies, meant nothing in the face of death. He retreated into himself, spending less and less time outside and more time alone in his lair. Years passed, and Epiales grew older. He never forgot about his friend or the joy that the fireflies had given him. Despite his grief, he continued to chase after the tiny creatures, hoping that someday he would be able to share their beauty with someone else who needed it. |
