The creatures clustered together, hearing roars nearby. This was one of the areas that the dragons would often train in, and they knew it. This certainly wasn't the first time that they would confront them. Their spines quivered in anticipation and fear, despite knowing that they would have to try and protect themselves. Glancing out through the leaves, they saw them, two, brightly colored guardians; a pair most likely. They growled low and gripped at the ground, preparing for an on-coming attack from the dragons, landing with a battle-ready stance.

>> Jordain's POV
He felt his spine tingle with anticipation as he watched his mate lower her head, towards the bushes to growl a warning. He and his mate has already smelled their prey before fully landing and they knew that with the wind picking up, they had little time to catch them. He saw Lucy's nudge for him to go around back, so he padded quietly away from the bush and kept his watchful gaze upon the situation. He sniffed the air and opened his maw slightly, scenting further to pick out which type of prey. He could feel his mouth salivating. He was in position. It seemed that his mate had successfully taken the prey's full attention.

(( This wasn't their first battle for prey, nor for the Beast clans. This was a quick stop to gather food. But their next destination, was somewhere new; a new battleground. ))

>> Jordain's & Lucy's POV
The creatures lunged out of the bushes at both ends this time, slightly catching Jordain off guard. This jaws were ready however. He thought for sure that Lucy had their full attention. He could tell because he heard mostly silence in the bush, except for skittering; possibly from their claws. He jaws snapped shut, just as the slippery creature tried to evade his teeth, but to no avail. The first prey caught. Lucy, on the other hand, grew excited. The rest of the critters began to leap out from all sides. To her, it was like a feeding buffet. She snapped at them and caught a few in her mouth. Jordain followed suit, catching a few more. Only two of the critters managed to scurry off into the thicket beyond them and make it to safety. Licking their lips, Lucy and Jordain chuckled and commented on, "How much alert their prey was than last time." They then nodded and flapped hard against the air above the ground, kicking up a large dust cloud as they rose into the skies to finish their training.

They were ready to face their next beast clan encounter. They had, after all, keen knowledge and skill under their wing. Their every talon, clawing at the air to feel their prey under their feet once more.
