Harlequary is reasonably certain he exudes some kind of vaguely deadly radiation. His role in the clan is that of alchemist and brewer of various substances both healing and toxic - he is a genius while in front of (or taking a nice invigorating bath in) a bubbling cauldron and is truly in his element when surrounded by the most noxious of chemicals. (It helps that he's immune to most poisons, through a combination of genetics and years of careful inoculation.)

He is not immune to eating glowing rocks. He is also not immune from having once been younger and making poor decisions. What, you think he was born with that color palette? No, no, he made a rock pie and irradiated his entire family back home. They're perfectly fine, but he got the worst of it - for what it's worth, it wasn't too radioactive, and as such he is only very slightly deadly to be around.

Harlequary's sense of humor is bitingly sarcastic and he has a reputation as a fun-killer, but in truth it's all in the name of safety - most anything is deadly in a high enough quantity, and he doesn't want any untrained hatchlings fooling about where they shouldn't. He does love them dearly.

And... things do tend to happen. When one isn't careful.
