It's an old tale passed in Klatschmon to never travel the gladeveins at night, for fear you'll be lost to the swamps. Rumors of swamp lights leading travels astray are abundant and taken rather seriously. If, though, you find yourself ignoring the warnings and traveling the murky veins in the dark, keep one warning to heart: do not talk to the veilspun that rise from the waters. Do not follow them to their home, do not take of their food and kindness, for if you do then, truly then, you'll never leave the gladeveins again. At least, not in a way that's recognizable...because they will change your body and alter your mind to match their image.

Goibniu doesn't know what kind of dragon he was before he was Changed...except for the aching pit of sadness that used to swallow him whole. He doesn't know if he came to the swamps to die or to live, the night he was Changed, and nowadays the question doesn't interest him anyway. If you find yourself in the glades at night, you might see a statue of aged copper up ahead, birds diligently sitting on its unmoving scales. But come closer, and you might notice it's still breathing...
"Not this way." He'll warn, as he animates with a rasping breath. "Help doesn't come this way."
So far, everyone he's spoken to have heeded his words.
