The beginning.

In the Old Ages, when the deities were still fighting and the Shade had risen against them, powerful forces were thrown into the atmosphere and smashed into the ground. One of the energies, a spell, was cast by the Shade and crashed upon the land of Nature onto two particular trees that had just started to form. Over time, these trees gained consciousness and throughout years, started to form nervous, muscular and skeletal systems and eventually they transformed into bodies of dragons. The first to move was confused, ferocious and untamed until she came across the other. They taught of each other and together they formed a bond to never be broken. They were Flora and Fauna.

Together they lived in solitary until the Age ended and other dragons came out of hiding, as did they. Fauna met Mako, a dragon of beautiful purples alike the sunset and deep blacks of an abyss. They became friends and worked together side by side, until his iridescent scales began to turn rough, his wings that were once the colour of crystal turned into a sheen of ivory, alike the most timid of trees.

Fauna realised what was happening. They were infected, but immune. If they were to touch another dragon or be in its vicinity for too long then the other would become infected. The spores would rampage through their bodies, and pain would be excruciating. Bones turn to branches and crack through the skin that flakes off, leaves grow over their bone branches and start to cough up ivy; it begins to get harder and harder to move as the limbs want to root into the ground.

Eventually, the curse takes hold of them. They turn to trees, but still have the ability to think. They cannot move, speak nor breathe. They are just a consciousness.
