HISTORY

It was a gloriously sunny day in midsummer, and the shining egg was hatching in the egghouse. This one belonged to some noble family; the parents are not important. They were there. They held each others hands and watched with rapt fascination as their lonely little black egg shifted and splintered.
Then a little head poked out. It was a sparkling black, with the most lovely golden-yellow streaks forming a unique sygil on the forehead. She blinked in the bright light, and made the most exquisite little sound, like the song of an extinct bird, or the very sound the soul of a god would make. As the watchers gazed on with adoration at the perfect little features of this child, a swarm of shining blue-purple butterflies flocked in through an open window.
They circled around the child for a moment - one could hear her melodic little cries from inside - before solidifying into a massive violet dragon wearing dark colors, with many flowers dripping off her person.

"I am the Saintess." This violet wonder announced. "I am here to present your perfect little hatchling with a gift that will make her the most beloved being in the eleven lands. She will be adored by all who see her, in her glory, and she will lead them."
