The clan moves in darkness, and so does she, flitting with the silence of a breeze, or perhaps a shadow. Stories of the most unsavory kind surround them, and she is no exception. You’ve heard the strangest rumors, of how she dances with the spring breeze. Of how she’s mastered even the most destructive enchantments, encaged in crystal walls. Of how wild she is, how untamed, bowing only to one other.

“There is nothing she will not do for them,” you’re told—and you believe it. Stories only go so far. But there’s no denying the evidence that she leaves behind: a fallen form here, and another one before that...
All of them mute and lifeless, hunted down in the dark.
All of them pierced through with arrows of forest-green. You’d be forgiven for thinking she was Wind-born, with her lilting laugh, her carefree smile. Green wings, as if to blend in with the tranquil forests. Among the grassy steppes, where the bamboo trees sway.

But her eyes are icy pale, and even when they twinkle, even when she smiles, you’d best not relax. She smiles when there is fun to be had, when there is something to seek out, when she is on the hunt.
When she smiles at you, her clawtips brushing the fletching of her arrows, beware, for you are her prey. The chase is never a long one. It is swift, but never hasty.
It flashes past, these final moments of your life, in snatches of sound more than sight.
The thunder of a panicked heart: faster, going faster. The harsh rustle of the undergrowth as you flee into the dark.

Lilting laughter, far behind you...but never too far away.
Then the twang of the bowstring. The hum of a wind-magicked arrow. It slices through the night with a single high and piercing note—
A thump as the arrowhead meets its mark. A final gasp. A sigh.
And the last thing you see is the rose she wears, shining golden in the darkness like a leonine eye.
