The journey had been difficult for Nightfrost but when she found the Noche Dulce clan she found a forever home she was proud to protect. The clans exclusivity suited her just fine and in the beginning her only determination was to train until her body was honed to strength and self-sufficiency. As a hatchling she had seen a carving of a creature, a snow leopard and she fancied it clever, strong, and solitary and wanted to embody those characteristics. Age helped her realize that being capable of being alone did not mean she had to force herself to be lonely and soon she came to appreciate time spent with her clan, particularly training them and enjoying combat in flight. She and Shadow often scouted together her strength and Shadows healing making them a perfect team against encroaching beast-clans. She shared a few dalliances with Calcium the clans bachelor scholar, but the two preferred to avoid classic entanglements and opted to remain friends rather than mates. Nightfrost is often the trainer of those dragons passing through the clan on their way to the great battles for the glory of the Shadowbinder and though she has expressed her desire to fight on the front she has refrained for her clan’s sake.

When the clan matriarch decided to extend the protection of the clan to a royal court and host princesses in need it was Nightfrost who became both bodyguard and tutor, she pinpointed the strengths and weaknesses of each new charge and set about trying to train them enough that they would be capable of protecting themselves if need be.
