and his final abortive attempt at vengeance was hinged on desperation, just as he had desperately hinged his future on her. his appendages appeared to fizzle as he made contact with the molten sand, the sound of it practically deafening against the backdrop of a world almost wholly and utterly silent. he startled himself into hesitancy for only a microsecond, as the protective shielding of his own creation was so much a part of him by that point that he had nearly forgotten the subatomic thinness of it.
this attempt was deliberate. the cannon was set to fire off a final time, cosmically aligned and perfectly timed to destroy his final target; the world of his origin. the world of his trouble; his ill-begotten existence, his misfortune and grief. and the world kiire, too, had come from. the unfairness of it all sprouted from that one world.
but it was not that cannon that he determined would be so deliberate; rather, it was his suicide. for this fact too he had neglected to remember the shielding device built into him, and by the time he had realized his error in action, he had waded too deep into the lake of fire, becoming mired within the molten lake of his own creation.

"initially i had wanted to impress upon my father that i could meet and exceed his intangible expectations. the reward for competency was by appearances profound. i slavered over the thought like some sickly animal. chasing a high i could not conceive of for my own sheer lack of experience
neyon clawed at the glossy ruins for centuries. as though he were chasing something behind the melted, glossy silica. whatever it was must have been exquisite enough to die for, if his later desperation and suicide attempt was anything to read into. decrepit fool
i did find it, for the record. once i was off that rock. that pleasure, that high--it was as divine and delicious as neyon acted it would be, and he conveyed it perfectly, all without ever having to speak a word. now instead i may impress upon my father that i can reap pleasure in spades, without scarcity or limitation. and with him i am more than eager to share"
"if you have to lose, fight for your losses."
