Biography

for Daeus

Some general clan lore

The clan is split up between two main groups, with members of the temple generally being differentiated from those who live in or around the city but aren't a part of the temple. While the temple-goers are generally seen in a positive light by the rest of the community for their charity and hospitality, they have their detractors. There are some in the alleys of Sanctuary city who believe their ability to commune with the dead is all an elaborate hoax to increase tourism. They don't complain, however. After all, tourism benefits everyone.

In reality, the driving factor in being such a popular tourist destination is due to being one of the only major settlements in such an arid part of the Shattered Plain. The Sanctuary is one of the only safe places to rest between the city and the sanctum.

The Sanctuary is mostly neutral to the ongoing turf wars between flights. Trainees from the sanctuary travel all over Sornieth to serve different deities and the only deity anyone has any major affiliation with is their own Earthshaker. Some dragons still honor the deity of their birth-element, but everyone's first and foremost elemental allegiance is to Earthshaker for giving the clan his blessing to live in Dragonhome. While most dragons have no strong connection to a specific deity or faction, there are some with biases that followed them from their old clan's culture or experiences.

The overall culture in the sanctuary is diverse due to it being a hub for outsiders traveling through Dragonhome. Overall, cooperation and respect are held in high regard and dragons value others' differences of opinion. Most would find it distasteful to be too outspoken about any polarizing topics.

The sanctuary is a prime example of tradition being built upon by modern ideas.
