A shy Gaoler who frequents the Temple of Ice. Vivian likes to stay out of the way of the other pilgrims and mages who frequent the temple, quietly performing her duties behind snow-covered hedges. Despite her appearance and occupation, Vivian is not from the Southern Icefield. She was hatched in a secluded Gaoler outpost hidden deep within the Worldedge Wetlands, and proved to be adept at handling Nature magic. Despite her prowess, Vivian never liked using her magic for combat, even just practice. She much preferred keeping the thick walls of vegetation around the stronghold green and lush, and even coaxing out the occasional flower. Her peaceful nature only made her superiors place more pressure on her, and so when the stronghold opened up to the wider world, Vivian left on the first boat south. She ended up in Traveler's Rest, as many who set out from their homes with no intention of returning do. Amazed by the city's thriving gardens, she spent several days wandering the streets, taking it all in. Though the Temple of Nature felt like home in a way, she found herself more drawn to the peaceful Temple of Ice. She noticed its boreal plants were wilting in the bright sun, despite the chill radiated by the temple, and took it upon herself to keep them healthy. Envoy of Ice Boreas noticed this, and offered Vivian an official position as the temple's gardener. When she isn't taking care of the real plants of the temple, Vivian often carves replicas of them in ice. Her delicate sculptures are often used as offerings to the Icewarden and as decoration around the temple. With a little help from Glaze, the flowers never shatter or melt. |
