Biography
P E R S O N A L I T Y As the clan's medium, Merideth is a soft spoken, gentle dragon with a very big heart. She is very empathetic and sympathetic about other dragon's situations. She is very honest, and will never tell a lie. Merideth often loves snooping into other people's futures without their knowledge, simply out of her huge sense of curiosity. Merideth, though blind, rains compliments down on others. She loves everyone, even though not everyone loves her. She may have a scary appearance, but once you're close to her, she is a big softie. She only opens up about her past to those closest to her, such as Megas and Vanguard. Also has an unhealthy frog obsession. B I O G R A P H Y A nest laid in the Shifting Expanse was hatched prematurely, bearing three handicapped hatchlings. Furious with the outcome of their offspring, Duet and Latte abandoned this nest, leaving the premature babies for dead. Luckily, one hatchling managed to survive. Despite a facial deformity leaving her blind and disfigured, she managed to find a nearby clan to take her in. A lovely Pearlcatcher by the name of Hope became her adopted mother. As the clan fortune teller, Hope had already known that the baby would be blessed with a gift to make up for her deformity. This deformity disgusted her fellow clanmates, so she was forced to wear a wooden mask. Not only does this mask represent hiding her physical flaws, but it also represents her blocking her emotional and mental flaws from view. Hope named the child Merideth, a name meaning Great Lord, foretelling her fate. Her Nickname to those close to her is Meri. She also trained Merideth in the art of fortunetelling and mediation between the living and the dead. Although blind, she was able to tell the difference between the materials and colors she could not see by contacting the ghosts of her siblings, which seem to linger around. As Merideth grew older, her abilities as a medium grew as well, to the point where Hope believed she had become dangerous. She did not realize that her foretelling of Meri being a “Great Lord” meant death to her clan. She notified the clan leader, who then proceeded to exile the teenage Merideth. Merideth's deceased siblings guided her to her next destination, her abilities sometimes exceeding her control and causing damage to her surroundings. She was lead to the Wyrmwound, where an enclave of misfits and wanderers gathered in a small village. Although confused by her siblings' decision to bring her here, she brushed it off and became a proud member of the Wanderer's Enclave. Here, Meri learned to control her abilities under the teachings of Megas. Merideth eventually met a male coatl named Vanguard, an abandoned dragon like herself. Although it took her a while to open up, she eventually became happy to spill her life story to him. With his help, she learned to love life and all of the dragons around her. She is a very quiet, loving dragon with no belief in what her fortunetelling mother claimed to be her prophecy. |
