Biography

Rastaban's logbook wrote:
I understand that I had hoped for this clan to grow, but I could never have expected for it to have grown in the way that it has so far. Perhaps this is how it will be for the clan, and perhaps that's not a bad thing...
The morning was cool and damp, much of the morning fog having not burned off yet. Even still, Adofai and Sequoia were down outside the sandy beaches of their Cystalspine mountain, looking for fish.
"Did you enjoy the rain last night?" Sequoia called out.
Adofai looked up and faced the Obelisk, "I quite enjoyed it. Hearing the rain outside was really soothing. Although I can't imagine Quorra found it too enjoyable," she finished with a chuckle. Sequoia laughed back. A small flock of Smallhead Flying Fish then jumped out in front of them, and he batted one out of the air with one of his claws. Looking up from the splash in the water he created, Sequoia looked back towards the coast, where he spotted something sitting on the sand.
"Adofai," he began, pointing towards the unknown object, "do you see that on the beach?" Adofai looked towards where the Obelisk was gesturing.
"Oh," she said, "I wonder what that is." The two began to approach the object. "Weird, it looks like it's just an outline of something that's laying on the beach where the water hits it."
"Yeah, I get what you're saying. It looks almost like... if you had a sheet of clear fabric that became, wait-" Sequoia cut himself off as the object came into greater detail. He let out a shocked gasp. Adofai laughed, "It feels exactly like when Rastaban, Aeroma, and I found you."
"Don't just laugh, we have to help him!" Sequoia shouted, now running to the revealed shape on the beach. Laying there, almost crumpled, was a very young male Ridgeback. He was clearly soaked and looked to be shivering.
"Poor thing," Adofai said, "come on, let's take him back to the lair. He doesn't look injured, so he's probably cold, tired, and hungry."
"And soaked, you can't forget that about Ridgebacks," Vanadi said with a laugh after Adofai finished the story.
Rastaban ignored this, "Any sign of his parents?" He asked.
Adofai shook her head, "Nothing. There were no signs of anything. Our only guess is that he washed up during the storm last night."
"Well then he's probably hungry and thirsty, too," Eltanin said, approaching the Ridgeback, who was still asleep.
"And nameless," added Quorra. This recieved a "ok, yes, but rude" look from Arcturus and Kyrna.
"Well, if that's the case," Arcturus began, "what should we call him?"
"What if we called him Eridanus?" Axiesi spoke up with a laugh in his voice.
"You can't be serious!" Aeroma said, "You're seriously thinking of calling him "river?"
Axiesi's grin turned into a scowl, "Well, if it's perfectly fine that you all get to call me "Cheesecake," whatever that means..." He turned and walked away. Rastaban looked back toward the sleeping Ridgeback hatchling.
"Well, if he's an Arcane dragon, like you two say, Eridanus might be quite fitting actually." The rest of the clan looked up and exchanged looks at each other.
"Well," Kyrna said, "if no one has any better ideas..."

Eridanus is unsure of his place in the clan. He keeps to himself, not saying or doing much of anything. Strangely enough, his clanmates haven't noticed him having borrowed anything from them yet, and they aren't sure what to make of this. However, despite his quiet and somewhat closed off behavior, Kyrna and Arcturus seem to have no trouble bringing out a somewhat childish nature in him.

After several months with the Draconids, Eridanus has become one of the go-to diggers for creating new chambers and tunnels for new members of the clan. Everyone sees this as a win-win, as it feeds Eridanus' habit as a Ridgeback of tunneling and it provides genuine utility to the clan.
