the Healer

“Change, like healing, takes time"

Gregarious to a fault, one of Sono’s greatest delights is meeting new dragons and getting to know as much about them as she possibly can. This has made her the clan’s unofficial greeter, a role which she is happy to have. In addition to her highly sociable nature, she has an excellent memory for details, especially small, unimportant ones that others are likely to overlook. She has not trouble recalling hatchdays, favorite foods, favorite sorts of treasure and all sorts of little things that other dragons tend to forget about the individuals they meet. The ability to learn and remember information has served her well in her duty as the clan’s healer. She knows exactly how to get finicky hatchlings to take much needed medicine and can recall in perfect detail the history of complaints any dragon she is treating has suffered from. This coupled with her near encyclopedic knowledge medicinal plants and what they can be used to treat means that she is easily one of the best healers around. Not at all miserly with her amazing knowledge, after a trip to the Light Flight to better hone her skills and learn new techniques in the healing arts, she took on the uniquely lucky Pakkanen as an apprentice so that he too could learn how to be a healer. So far the Imperial has proven to be a highly adept pupil, which pleases her to no end.

As fond of learning new things as she is of teaching, Sono also loves to go hunting with her mate Redghost. The pair of them seem to have little in common, the much older, taciturn Guardian her polar opposite for all intents and purposes, but he cares dearly for her and on the hunting trips they take together he open up to her about all sorts of things from his past. While they fish and seek out various forms of costal wildlife she has learned much about her mate, the clan he came from, the battles he has fought and all the places his travels took him to. She loves listening to his stories, and is eager to try and put what he has taught her about hunting and tracking to good use.

There have been times where she has acted in haste though, the scars that adorn her body are a testament to that. She earned them in the hunt for an octoflyer of unusual size. Alongside Redghost she had followed the creature to a particularly dangerous stretch of coast and at his urging she made the first move when they cornered the octoflyer. Acting more quickly than was wise, she rushed in and missed with her attack, allowing the creature to jet away and sweep her against the rocks with a tentacle. Redghost was quick to intervene, effortlessly dispatching the octoflyer and pulling her out of the water. Sono considers the scars she got from that encounter the mark of a lesson learned. She takes more time to think before acting now in hunting and all things.
