queenie was raised on stories of grandeur and royalty; her mother told her of a great legacy their family was a part of, which queenie later learned was a means to distract her from the difficulties the two faced. queenie buried her mother at an age younger than necessary, and began traveling.

many schemes rose up and were dragged under. many attempts by queenie to charm any group of locals into worship. eventually the trickery made way for true skill, but even the best of abilities could not force her intended subjects to bow. perhaps, it turned out, she could win their hearts by doing something great. a local village was being terrorized by some formations of shade; perhaps something could be done!

sombriel and gray were the only 'for-hires' that showed on the day of. this was fine; they were both of ample strength. so, with queenie in the lead, the three were on their way. their adventure went without a hitch -- at first. queenie had the foresight and organization for planning and packing, sombriel's experience and strength were invaluable, and gray proved himself able to cook a mean dish to keep them all satisfied. however, their target was a shade monster; they had certainly miscalculated their abilities.

just when the three were certain they were doomed, two dragons appeared, a pearlcatcher and a skydancer, glowing with brilliant light. they forced back the creatures, freeing the village and saving queenie's party. she would have been angered at the spotlight being taken, had she not been so terrified. queenie quickly introduced herself and her guards.

at her words, the pearlcatcher's eyes brightened farther than queenie thought possible; according to this pearlcatcher, queenie fit the exact description of a dragon prophesized by the Lightweaver to help rebuild the world pillar. her! queenie did not hesitate to accept starsinger and dreamcrusher's offer, and sombriel and gray followed after.
