Biography
Red, the Mother of Names.
When dragons are exalted without a name, they can become restless. It is the duty of the Mother of Names to give new life to the restless Nameless. She may take any mate she pleases, but never a single, permanent mate. All of her hatchlings must be named, for a Twice Nameless is capable of great curses. Once named, the hatchlings are free to live their lives. They may live in the clan, leave to join another, take a mate, have hatchlings of their own, or rejoin the deity they were exalted to serve previously.
Red did not know what the Mother of Names was, but she was able to feel the presence of the restless Nameless since she became an adult. When she thought of taking a mate and having hatchlings, the feelings grew stronger. After careful research with the help of Oracle, she discovered long buried texts describing the Mother of Names.
Now she had a choice. She could ignore the restless Nameless and, given enough time, they would leave to seek a new Mother of Names.
Or she could embrace her role, giving a precious gift to the exalted dragons.
She chose to embrace it.
