Biography
Ivanov
Caretaker
Ivanov, being an aberration, for the majority of his life, followed the strict social structure that all of his breed, regardless of domain, adhere to. Aberration culture values elder knowledge over all else, and Ivanov had no intention of disrespecting anyone. He was a foolish hatchling, sticking his nose where it didn't belong and never learning his lesson. His parents could hardly keep up with him and often gave up. As he grew older, his two heads became more unique in personality. While they both referred to themselves as 'Ivanov', the differences ended there. They always wanted many hatchlings, it was a seemingly innate desire for all aberrations, and as they grew, Ivanov quickly discovered the Shadowbinder's domain became less appealing. Aberrations stuck together and they knew everyone in the village, so Ivanov went out on their own. For the majority of three years, Ivanov could resist the desire to return to their breed and have eggs, but their strength waned as the seasons went on.
But, Ivanov quickly found a solution to their problem. They met someone, Kadere, a striking aberration who they fell for immediately. Ivanov felt whole and desperately sought to win Kadere over. He courted her, bringing treasure, food, jewels, and any number of valuable materials. In the end, Kadere accepted him and the two lived together for a year, raising three hatchlings in their matrimonial bliss. Ivanov was happy. After their hatchlings had come and gone, Kadere slowed down. He was concerned, she wasn't that old, the hatchlings couldn't have drained her too much. Within a week, Kadere was deathly ill. Ivanov was distraught, gathering all the herbs he knew and flying off for doctor after doctor, but none could help. Kadere asked Ivanov to exalt her, for she knew she'd surely die, and serving the Shadowbinder was her final wish. He didn't want to, but Ivanov accepted and exalted her.
For months, Ivanov was lost in mourning. Aberrations were largely monogamous, mating for life. Ivanov thought that Kadere would be the one, but she was dead. Devastated and ready to wither away, Ivanov simply fell to the ground and refused to move. Miran found him two weeks later, close to death. He asked the skeletal aberration if he wanted a home. Ivanov slowly nodded, heartbroken beyond belief.
Upon arriving at the den, Ivanov met KonKros and became her only friend. Months later, Ivanov discovered he loved her and they quickly became mates.
Ivanov is a cheerful aberration with a love of hatchlings and a strong paternal sense. He is cautious while also being very entertaining.
