Biography
Problematic individual of the week award goes to... this guy. Every single week.
Sylas knows that what has happened to him was never his fault. He was born with a unique mage ability; sense the inherent magic of others. Hatched to a clan of dragons who had formerly had a powerful mage leader that betrayed them, his family feared for Sylas' life. They thought he'd be executed or jailed like the other mages that visited or were born into the clan, but it was not so. Because when Sylas was discovered, he became something more than just a hatchling. He became a very useful tool. He was used as a dowsing rod of sorts, to point the clan to the mages hidden within them in order to eradicate them. He didn't understand what he was doing until he was much older, he just thought he was helping. Then, he stumbled upon a small hatchling no more than a day old, full of magical power. He begged his clanmates not to hurt her, and when they did not yield he tried to help her escape himself. The resulting explosion from the hatchling's powers, conducted through Sylas himself, was enough to kill everyone involved, except for Sylas. Jailed for his 'crimes' Sylas laid in wait for years, until he discovered the brightest light he'd ever seen. When Luxanna started visiting more and more often, the noble and the prisoner felt themselves drawn to eachother. And if he used her as a method of escape, drawing from her powers to let himself free, then who would blame him? He was an innocent man after all.
He was, until his escape.
The slaughter of many innocent dragons in the clan who he believed had wronged him, that was the cost of his freedom. A revolution that rocked the clan ensued, and Sylas found himself in a freed empire. Yet Luxanna was banished to The Clan Killing Sword for his escape. So, he took it upon himself to follow her. It was his fault she was in this mess, after all, and her powers might still be of future use. Yet his reputation is known now, his talons coated with blood, and so he must stick to the shadows. Meetings in the dark of night with Luxanna, his shining beacon, and his light for the future. Because even the darkest of souls must have some light to look forward to and Luxanna is Sylas'.
