Biography
Treasured

Solae is seemingly one of the most confident, cocky and vain dragons in all of the Scarborough Lairs. For those who only vaguely know him, that's all there is to this beautiful boy. But those who know him a bit better know why Solae has never once wandered beyond the clan's borders since joining. And why no clan members let any dragons passing through get to know his face well enough to remember it, lest a specific clan hears tell of such a beautiful golden dragon.
In his youth, Solae hadn't known his parents long enough to remember before he'd been sent off to a new clan. One which he'd known for most of his life, though he'd only really known one primary dragon residing there who simply called itself his keeper. At the time he had no idea the gold chain keeping him tethered was to prevent escape or the theft of a great "treasure", he'd never known anything outside a life on that chain after all. As far as his knowledge went, he was beautiful and pampered and loved. His attachment to this older dragon was simply how things worked, and his keeper was all he knew and cared about. He felt scared whenever the dragon left him behind, chained up to "keep you safe from the horrors of the world and those who might harm you".
It wasn't until centuries later that he'd stumbled upon the papers used to purchase him, but even then he couldn't know enough to really care. It was just another thing that was always done, and when he questioned his keeper about it, it was simply brushed off to the side with another offer of a new gift to spoil him with and a polishing session to keep his scales and wings shining brightly.
It takes centuries for the keeper to slip up, for Solae to be found by another dragon, a visitor who'd gotten lost wandering through the lair. And naturally, when they happened upon a chained up dragon, questions ensued, the kind of which resulted in the visitor's knowledge that Solae clearly needed help. And thus Solae was very quickly and rudely pulled out of his "life of luxury" and into the terrifying real world. He was taken back with the visitor to their own clan, being told all along the way how horrible his entrapment had been and how he was finally free.
Unfortunately, years of being kept as a treasure aren't easily undone. Even to this day he wonders if it was really for the best, to be pulled out of a life where everything was handed to him so long as he stayed by his keeper's side. Despite his thorough adjustment to life in the new clan, he still questions his sudden jolt to a reality so different from his own. On long lonely nights he can sometimes be found staring at the sky in the direction of the life he'd once known.
Really, is imprisonment to a clan and lair without a chain so different than a pampered life kept to one keeper?
She'd pushed him ahead of her, making sure he made it to the barrier in time. But she was so small, and simply couldn't fit through next to him in time.
What can he do now, where can he go without anyone watching over him? He's receeded back into his room deep in the tunnels.
