Even from a young age, Iridae was an expert in using her words wisely. She rarely spoke, except to place a few well-chosen words into the already troubled waters of the Court, leading to her desired outcome almost all of the time. Her ability to easily see through the lies of others, while simultaneously weaving her own web of lies, proved invaluable in Court meetings. She was a rising star, gaining the eyes of both allies and adversaries.

Iridae seemed to know everything. But not even she could have foreseen the assassination attempt against her. It was deceptively simple, a hint of poison slipped into her drink at a party by an unknown figure, but she’d suspected something was off.

Later, after discovering the truth, Iridae had a realization. If her enemies were going to use poison, why shouldn’t she? Every rose had its thorns after all. And when she got her claws on that assassin, they’d find out just how sharp those thorns really were.
